Through interviews with the artist himself as well as art critics and galerists, this documentary explores the many facets of Jerome Witkin’s work: the moral imperative that commands his choice of subject matters, Mr. Witkin’s virtuosity with the brush, his special interest in the representation of the Holocaust and many more. Concentrating on the work of Jerome Witkin and showing a total of 29 pieces, the film also gently illuminates the man behind the paintings. With great generosity, Mr. Witkin shares his point of view on life, recalls personal history and speaks about the role of the artist. Full of information and strong emotions, this well-rounded portrait leaves you curious and wanting to see more of Jerome Witkin’s great art.
